Areas of Research Interests
The goal of my research is to examine genetic and environmental influences on smoking behavior, particularly nicotine withdrawal and related conditions such as major depression. I am now working to develop an improved assessment of nicotine withdrawal for genetic research, guided by findings from animal research and previous human research using interview and laboratory measures of symptoms of nicotine withdrawal; and then to apply this in a case-control study of genetic association.
